INTO THE BIG BLUE YONDER....

Howdy Peeps!

So today I'm busy packing...

(no idea why that writing is pink...) and getting frustrated that I will forget something!

I'm off to Bris Vegas (Brisbane) tomorrow and am about to turn off the laptop to pack some computer thingies.

Just letting you all know that I will be back online when I get a wireless broadband card.

I'll do another journal when that happens.

HAPPINESS IS...?

Howdy Everyone!

Good news!!!

I'm flying up to Brisbane to see my ailing mum next Wednesday the 9th. We found the money for the tickets! YAY!

I'm hoping it won't be our last Christmas together, but we're gonna make the most of it.

So, even though I will have a tough road ahead of me, I am glad that I get to spend time with her.
I will be with her indefinitely, playing it by ear.
There may be a permanent move in the near future - Henley and I relocating to either Adelaide or Brisbane,
but it's something I've been wanting for some time.
Kangaroo Island is beautiful, but living with your over-controlling father at 37 is not...
I need to get my career on track again (hopefully graphic/web design) and give some kind of decent future to my son.

So for me, happiness is... feeling like I'm in control of my future again.
Feeling change and welcoming it, regardless of how hard it will be.
Opening new doors to new possibilities.
Being allowed to be me and reach my full potential.

AN ORANGE ESCAPE

Howdy Everyone!

I'm feeling a little sad. I just got news last night that my mother's cancer has spread to her lungs and bladder and the prognosis isn't good.
6 months ago she was told she has 12 months to live, and that's with a few months of chemo she's just had.
I can't afford the $800 AUD air fares to go see her, and she wants me to be with her... Christmas airfares...
I hate feeling like I can't do anything for her.

So, today I feel the need to escape into an orange landscape for some odd reason... Join me?

Howdy again peeps!

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for all the overwhelmingly kind comments I've recieved on my last journal announcing that I'm back, and on the first works I uploaded.

You all are wonderful people, and your welcomes and warmth has really been amazing.
I am looking forward to spending the next few days catching up with all your galleries and having a good look around.
I feel like I've missed so much, and I've gotten a little rusty with all the emotes I used to know!

Howdy Peeps!

Well, after so many gorgeous comments and kind words on other sites, I will try to come back and have some kind of presence here again.

Truth be told, I have missed coming on here and browsing your galleries and journals, and communicating regularly with you all. I really haven't come back much to look, and have noticed my inspiration for all things art has diminished somewhat as a result. As an artist, I think I need the inspiration from others.

I also haven't had the time to devote to any art site I'm on, as leaving dA really made me busy in other areas. But things are a little quieter now.

I'll have to wait til I can afford a membership again (and no, not asking for anyone to donate), because I really can't stand not having any features on my page or being able to browse without all the ads. I need colour and to be able to jazz it up! I really don't like giving dA any of my money after spending $2000 in the first year and being treated like crap by certain admins (ahem, $chix0r ), but as I said, I really want to have the features.

Anyone want to update me on any great changes that have happened whilst I've been away? I feel like I've missed heaps... How's the whole groups thing going?

I'll be browsing and faving like a fiend again soon. I'll try to keep out of trouble this time...

Anyone got any ideas on an appropriate avatar for me now??? Perhaps a tin foil hat wearing drama llama?

I'm open to suggestions!
